Professor, Institute of Nursing Education, Gr-A

Professor shall be in charge of department of her specialty. She shall be directly
responsible to the Principal, Institute of Nursing Education. she shall be responsible for -
1) Assigning of duties to the Lecturers, Tutors/Clinical Instructors working in her
department.
2) Drawing up yearly plan of work, lecturer hours, relation plans etc. & for setting up
programmes for the terminal & preliminary examinations in consultation with the
principal.
3) Teaching subjects as assigned by the Principal, according to the Nursing specialty.
4) Evaluation the students theoretical work, including assignment of grades &
maintenance of records.
5) Supervision & evaluation & maintaining records of students in the clinical field in
the hospital or in public Health field as necessary/providing for systematic &
periodic review of the curriculum & approval of results.
6) Maintaining coordial relationship with all allied workers affiliated to the hospital &
Public Health Nursing field.
7) Attending staff meetings in service educational programmes.
8) Counselling of students, Assisting principal in supervision & maintaining discipline in
the hostel.
9) The Professor will do such other duties as are assigned to hr from time to time &
work inimically with other members of the Institute of Nursing Education staff. If the
principal is on leave, she will obey the person deputed to work in place of the principal.
