Deputy General Manager (Traffic Operations)

The Deputy General Manager (Traffic Operations) is the overall In charge of the Traffic Operations,
Ticket & Cash Department, Accident & Claims Department.
His functions and responsibilities are as under:-
1) He is responsible for the entire traffic operations carried out from various depots which are scattered over the operational area of Greater Bombay and beyond Greater Bombay i.e. upto Bhayandar on the western side and upto New Bombay i.e. Vashi Turbhe, Kokan Bhavan on the eastern side covering an area of 4, 134, 5 kms.
He is required to -
2) maintain efficient and economic operations of bus service to nearly 48 lakhs of commiters of greater Bombay traveling daily.
3) Submit information and periodical statistics, reports to the Management on Traffic Operations;
4) Offer guidance to his immediate subordinates connected with policies of traffic operations;
5) keep liaison with the state Government, Municipal Corporation, Police, Railways, Hospitals, Director of Transport, Maharashtra state Road Transport Corporation, Home Guards and various other public and private bodies on inter-related problems and solutions in respect of Traffic Operations.
6) scrutinize and approve plans for man-power, vehicle requirement and utilization, route proposals, allocation of duties for Traffic Operational staff, staff amenities, passenger amenities stock items and inventory. etc,
7) formulate various plans for the training and development of Traffic Operational Staff viz. Bus Conductors, Bus Drivers, Inspectorial staff and Traffic officers and evaluate the same;
8) plan surveys of new areas of development for introduction of new services with particular reference to the development plans of the State Government, Bombay Municipal Corporation, Railways, etc.
9) plan various incentive schemes and innovation connected with inceasing productivity;
10) Prepare plans for prevention of accidents; and
11) any other duties that may be assigned to him by Addl. G.M.
