Duties And Responsibilities
i) He will be Head of Department who will be responsible to Dean and government in all respect.
ii) Full administration of the Department regarding -- a) Posting of Associate Professors, Lecturers,
Registrars, House Officers, Trainees and post-graduates in Anesthesia in various operation theaters
for a Administration of Anesthesia. b) Making emergency duty list from time to time c) Distribution of teaching work to them for under- graduates and other trainees.
iii) Attend all the official meetings like College council, University faculty and Board of Studies and other interdepartmental meetings, if invited.
iv) He should handle all official and un-official correspondence and their replies
v) Should attend Death conference.
vi) Teaching and training of post-graduates in Anesthesia, organize Seminars and Other activities in the Department.
vii) Administration of all operations theaters.
viii)Indending the requirements of the department like equipments, their maintenance, drugs and library reference books and periodicals.
ix) Research work.
x) Encourage and guide other staff members in their research work and help them in presenting their
work in Annual Conference.
xi) Administrators, Anesthesia to important case and guide other staff members and even students.
xii) Organize the training programmes to Nurses, Medical Officers, Surgical Medical Officers and also General Practitioners in the Resuscitation methods during emergency. Recovery rooms, intensive
care unit etc.
Responsibilities.
Professor will be responsible for the proper and prompt management of the department for the
whole of Hospital.
He will be responsible for purchase of equipments their manitainance reference books in
consultation with the Associate Professor and Lecturers.
Efficient maintenance of anaesthetists services to other department of the Hospitals and
Surgical Camps.
Co-ordination with other clinical and para-clinical Department in all possible ways.
