Name of the Post - Deputy Director, Ground Water Survey & Development Agency,
Group – A.
1) The Deputy Director will be in charge of a region consisting of a group of 6 to 8 districts in the
state of Maharashtra.
2) He will work under the immediate control and directions of the Director, GSDA, Pune, and will
carry out his instructions issued from time to time.
3) He will keep close liason with the various Departments of government and other institutions
and organizations within his jurisdiction as may be required in pursuance of Development
Agency.
4) He will advise the public on matters pertaining to the work of Groundwater Surveys and
Development Agency.
5) He will exercise such powers as may be delegated to him from time to time in regard to
administration of the Groundwater Surveys and Development Agency.
6) He will arrange to maintain accounts, records books, registers, as may be required in regard
to his office, machinery equipment tools etc. and submit reports, returns or other information
as may be required by the Head office of Groundwater Surveys and Development Agency.
7) He will tour in the various Districts of his region at regular intervals and will keep a close
watch on the programme of the various schemes undertaken by this organization in
connection with Groundwater Surveys and development agency.
8) He will, also inspect the District Offices of the Assistant Geologist and Deputy Engineers
(Mechanical), GSDA and carry out inspection in accounts, administration and implementation
of the various schemes assigned to the District Officer, and issue instructions to the
subordinate offices for removing defects in the administration and also to improve the
technical standard of the work.
9) He will attend to such other work as may be assigned to him from time to time by the Director
Groundwater Surveys and Development Agency, Pune.
