Name of the Post - Special District Social Welfare Officer / Assistant Director / Research
Officer / Social Welfare Officer (A).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :-
The Social Welfare Officer will chiefly attend the following duties :-
I) General :-
1. To represent the Social Welfare Department in the District planning and
development council for all Social Welfare Development schemes including the
local sector schemes.
2. To give technical guidance to the Zilla Parishad in respect of schemes transferred
under section 100 of the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samiti Act, 1961
and also in respect of schemes to be implemented from Zilla Parishad funds.
3. To represent the Directorate for special Component plan for Sch. Castes in the
District Planning and Development Council.
4. To monitor the progress of allocation of funds of special component plan and
expenditure therefrom by various departments at the District level.
5. To assist the Director at District level in inspection of various institutions receiving
grants from the social welfare Department.
II) Schematic :-
1. To implement the scheme at the district level wherever powers have been delegated to
them (in respect of schemes under B.C. Welfare ,child welfare, women welfare, welfare of
the P.H., Aged and Infirm, and Special Nutrition Programe.)
2. To Allot W.F.P. –615 materials to various institutions in the District and cause recovery of
W.F.P. 615 materials due from concerned institutions.
3. To scrutinize the proposals received from Co-op. Housing societies in respect of loans and
subsidies and give necessary guidance to them.
III) Administration :-
1. Supervision over the management of Government Institutions in the District.
2. Visit to Government institutions (Monthly two and four Non-Government Institutions
monthly)
3. Monthly inspection of one aided institution.
4. To register the names of B.C. candidates for class-II IV services in employment and send
lists of eligible candidates to appointing authorities on requisition.
5. To represent the Department in the selection committee for selection of B.C. candidates for
Government/Semi-Government offices.
In addition to the above duties the Social Welfare Officer will have to carry out any other
activity/Job assigned by the Director.
He will have to tour monthly for 10 days with five night halts.
