Name of the Post - Psychiatrist, Maharashtra Medical & Health Services, Grade - A
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
(1) He will see all cases referred to him by the Medical Officers & advise line of treatment. In these cases also, he will refer such cases to the Superintendent which he thinks that they should be seen by the Superintendent.
(2) He will supervise the DCT & INSULINE treatment given to the patient & advise the Medical Officers when necessary.
(3) He will recommend discharge of patients on parole & also cases to be put up before the monthly Visitor’s Committee.
(4) The staff working in the Occupational Therapy Department & the Psychiatric Social Workers will work directly under the Class I Psychiatrist. He will supervise their work & will be responsible for maintenance of the records of their timely attendance, casual leave & long leave etc.
(5) All the Class-II Psychiatrist will work under him & he will recommend to the Superintendent, any charge he desire in the interest of the administration of the Class-II Psychiatrist.
(6) He will look after all the discharges so that follow up treatment can be charted out.
(7) He will scrutinise & guide the letters replies & enquiries.
(8) He will be available for any Psychiatrist emergency.
(9) Any other duties that will be allotted by the Superintendent.
