DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Any emergency development in Prisons..
2. Assembly Question.
3. Prison security.
4. Escape from prisons.
5. Agitations and any special events.
6. Shifting of inter-prison population.
7. All court decisions in relation to prisoner’s written and various other legal implications.
8. Research work.
9. Judicial and Judical matter such as parole, furlough etc.
10. Reorganisation.
11. Opening of new prisons and colonies.
12. Reports of different Expert Committees regarding Prison Reforms, Security etc.
13. Scientific Classification.
14. Planning and Organising Prison Reforms.
15. Amendments to prison Manual and Plan Schemes.
16. Any Other duties assigned by the Inspector General of Prisons.
