Name of the Post - Assistant Public Prosecutor, Group A
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
(1) To conduct the trials in the Magisterial Courts of the cases filed by Police Department. In addition to it
also to conduct trials of the cases filed by other departments of Prohibition, Excise, Forest, Food &
Drug Department, Labour Department etc.
(2) Whenever Police & other department seeks opinion during investigation in case of matters pending
before the court, tender opinion or express his views in such matters.
(3) Conduct trials of important cases under Indian Penal Code in magisterial courts and assist the courts
in disposal of cases justify & properly as per the provision of Laws.
(4) Whenever approched by concerned Govt. officers prepare chargesheets and while preparing
chargesheets mention appropriate legal provisions verify papers to ascertain as to whether material on
record is sufficient to frame the charges and if any information is lacking or further investigation is
needed, give instructions accordingly.
(5) While tendering legal opinion expressing views or filling chargesheet, to see that no lacunas will be left
out in future.
(6) if appointed as " Law Instructor " in Police Training School, discharge duties accordingly.
(7) To perform such other duties assigned to his for time to time by Director or other senior officers.
